GCT Semiconductor Powers Modacom 4G Mobile USB Data Card in Japan
San Jose, CA – February 11, 2015 – GCT® Semiconductor, a leading designer and supplier of advanced 4G mobile semiconductor solutions, today announced that its advanced LTE chip GDM7243M powers the new 4G LTE mobile data communication card, the URoad-Stick, developed by Modacom, a leading router provider in Japan, and recently launched by UQ Communications (UQ) in Japan. The mobile data card supports 110 Mbps downlink and is optimized for use on UQ’s TDD-LTE-compliant network (also referred as WiMAX2+). GCT’s multi-mode chip GDM7243M supports Category 4 FDD/TDD-LTE as well as 802.16e, and was fully certified by KDDI in July 2014.
