| The GDM7001 is a highly integrated, low power, CMOS single chip tuner IC for S-DMB/MSB (Satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcasting: ITU-R recommendation System E) operating in the 2.6GHz. This devices includes all the major components required to implement a S-DMB tuner; ranging from two receivers for antenna diversity, analog baseband, A/D converter, digital demodulator, channel decoder, and host interfaces. When connected with an A/V processor, the GDM7001 provides the most integrated total solution for S-DMB on the market today. The GDM7001 offers excellent radio performance-an essential ingredient for the creation of high quality mobile products, supporting this standard. The GDM7001 utilizes state-of-art Direct Conversion (zero IF) RF to remove the need for costly and space consuming IF, SAW Filtering. It also includes a high speed processor as a baseband for digital demodulator and channel decoder execution.
By integrating both RF and Baseband into the same silicon, the GDM7001 is able to control RF and baseband in the most optimal manner, thereby reducing its power consumption and optimizing its receiver performance for sensitivity and channel selectivity.
