Dr. Kyeongho "K.H." Lee

Dr. Kyeongho "K.H." Lee, President & CEO / Chairman of the BOD

Kyeongho Lee is the driving force behind the operations and engineering innovations that give GCT its competitive advantage in the wireless industry, including their mobile handset and wireless multimedia SOC. "K.H." is credited with the successful fundraising efforts at GCT, which to date have secured more than $73.4 million over four rounds. In addition, Dr. Lee has served as GCT's Chief Technical Officer since 1999 and became President and Chief Executive Officer in 2001. As president, he is responsible for ensuring the strategic direction of the company, business development and the seamless day-to-day operations across the three companies in the U.S. and Asia that together make up GCT Semiconductor.

"K.H." holds 17 separate U.S. patents relating to GCT's direct conversion architecture and RF technology. Dr. Lee has authorship credits on eleven separate white papers or presentations dealing with communications semiconductor design, and was the winner of the Distinguished Dissertation award in 2000 from Seoul National University -- a tribute to his leadership in the wireless industry.

Prior to founding GCT Semiconductor, Dr. Lee worked at Silicon Image where he created and patented the architecture behind Silicon Image's PanelLink flat panel display technology, which became a worldwide standard. K.H. holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University.

Mr. John Schlaefer

Mr. John Schlaefer, Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Schlaefer heads all sales, marketing, program management and production operations at GCT. Based in the San Jose, California, office, Mr. Schlaefer offers a strong background in the wireless semiconductor industry, including extensive experience in marketing, business development and operations. He is responsible for the management of daily operations as well as sales and marketing for the company.

Mr. Schlaefer joins us after working for twelve years with National Semiconductor Corporation. From 2001 to 2005, Mr. Schlaefer lead National's RF Products Group as Product Line Director with P&L responsibilities for National's industry leading PLL family - including the industry's first monolithic PLL + VCO product family - and PHS radio products.

Previously, Mr. Schlaefer held development and project engineering roles, including program management, at Watkins-Johnson Company in San Jose and Scotts Valley, California, where his responsibilities included the development and production of advanced antenna systems and missile components. Mr. Schlaefer holds BSEE and MSEE degrees from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.

Mr. Ron Wilderink

Mr. Ron Wilderink, Vice President of Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Wilderink leads the finance and administrative functions at GCT. He is responsible for management of the financial, planning,legal and other administrative activities for the company. From 1998 to 2002, he was Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Conductus, Inc., a manufacturer of filter and amplifier systems for the wireless communications market.

Previously, Mr. Wilderink was Vice President and Corporate Controller of Oak Technology, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company providing solutions to the optical storage, digital imaging and digital home entertainment markets. His prior experience includes various finance positions with Bell Microproducts, VMX, Inc. and KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP. Mr. Wilderink holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from San Jose State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Alex Sum

Mr. Alex Sum, Vice President, Marketing

Mr. Sum leads the product marketing and program management functions at GCT. He is responsible for directing the product definition and marketing research efforts, and setting corporate business objectives and "time to market" goals.

Prior to GCT, Mr. Sum was a product marketing manager at Philips Semiconductor with the global responsibility for managing the successful launch of sigma delta synthesizers, as well as CDMA and TDMA RF products. Before joining Philips, Mr.Sum served as a product/test engineering manager at Supertex and Fairchild Semiconductors. Mr.Sum has various experiences in start-up, growth and mature businesses. He has a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University.

Dr. Jeongmin Kim

Dr. Jeongmin "Jeemee" Kim, Vice President, Engineering/ Digital

As a VP, Dr. Kim is focused on developing wireless multimedia SOC based on Bluetooth or Wireless LAN and associated embedded cores for GCT Semiconductor, as well as overseeing the company's mobile media processor initiative. Dr. Kim brings a great deal of experience to the position, with more than nine years of service with Samsung Electronics and Korea Telecom working on multimedia semiconductor design.

During his doctorate program at Seoul National University, Dr. Kim studied the design and development of semiconductor circuits and systems, including an embedded DSP core, MPEG 2/4 coder-decoder, and low-power mobile media processor. He also was involved in developing embedded system software, including a simulator and compiler. "Jeemee" has been credited with authoring a number of articles for leading engineering journals in the U.S. and Korea.
